You may have noticed some attention surrounding the release of the 2016 Founders Brewery Kentucky Bourbon Stout in various bars in the city. One bar with a rich history dating back to the pioneer days of the craft beer revolution in Chicago, Clark Street Ale House, will hold an even more special release in addition to the 2016 offering.
This Wednesday, April 6th at 4pm, Clark Street Ale House will tap into their highly-coveted reserve of the 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016 kegs of the Founders KBS.
Each year, there are only 30 kegs of the sought-after beer allotted for the entire Chicago market. To accomplish this monumental tasting, the wheels were put into motion four long years ago when the 2012 barrel-aged stout was set aside to be aged. The plan is to continue this four-year tradition by setting aside the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 releases so that they can age for another special tapping in four years in 2020.
Clark Street Ale House will be showing the UEFA Champions League series for soccer fans during the tournament while the tasting event occurs. The bar will open at 1pm on Tuesday and Wednesday to accommodate those looking to take in the games.
